Successful Treatment of GERD

I was desperate when I first went to see Doctor Coppola in mid-January of 2012. I had been suffering from GERD for several years, and it was steadily worsening. I did not want surgery to repair a hiatal hernia, nor a lifelong diet of prescription medication, but the intense pain in my esophagus was frightening, and it was having an increasingly negative impact on my daily life. I also had a host of other unrelated symptoms: vertigo, anxiety, low energy, inability to concentrate....which I chalked up to getting older. At first I was a little nervous because I had never tried this type of therapy, but after my second visit to Dr. Coppola, I experienced an amazing rush of euphoria and a tremendous sense of well being. My pains and miscellaneous symptoms vanished, I had so much energy, I felt like superwoman. That lasted three days, and then I crashed, I felt terrible again, but not quite as bad as before the visit. This was the beginning of a pattern: see the Doc, feel great, crash, see the Doc, feel great, crash; but each time the period of feeling great was lengthening, and the crashes were not as severe. This went on for about two months. For the last two months (it is now the end of April), I have been riding on an uninterrupted wave of vitality and optimism. I want to pinch myself because I wonder how anyone can feel so happy. At work, people have noticed. I have been asked what is changed in my life that I have such a spring in my step and such a bright and cheerful demeanor. (How did they see me before, I wonder?) In my job at an English language school, I meet and transition into my classroom a steady stream of new students. Before Dr. Coppola, I often felt anxiety and dread at the thought of all those new faces. Now I look forward to meeting each new student. My kids noticed the difference too. My daughter who is absolutely doctor-phobic asked me to start taking her, too. My son, who has had lifelong medical issues is now also being seen by Dr. Coppola. Just what does Dr. Coppola do? Good question. A little tap here, a little tap there, a wave of his laser wand, sessions at his BAX machine, and supplements to deal with the allergic reactions and inflammation. It does not seem like much at the time, but within a day or two the effects are unmistakeable.
